REMEDIES

1. Relevant core courses like Database Management system, Agile technology, Embedded System, R Programming are omitted from curriculum.
2. There is evident of block marking in the grading of students work
3. There is no standard manual for programming and software engineering courses for the programme.
4. Staff mix by rank is not consisted with NUC guideline in only one category,
5. 33% of teaching staff does not benefit from staff development programme for the past three years.
6. The Laboratories lacks the following equipment Microcomputer, Microprocessor and Hardware trainers
7. Library holding is not adequate in books and journals
8. Funding is inadequate

 

The Department should include courses like Database Management system, Agile technology, Embedded System, R Programming in their curriculum.
2. The Department should discourage the use of block marking in the grading of students work
3. The Department should develop a standard manual for programming and software engineering courses.
4. The University should ensure that Staff mix by rank should be consisted with NUC guideline in all category,
5. The University should ensure that all staff should benefit from staff development programme of the unioversity.
6. The following equipment should be provided in laboratories: Microcomputer, Microprocessor and Hardware trainers
7. The University should ensure that, more books and journals should be procure in the Library.
8. More fund should be provided to the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 89.26%. It scored 31.8 (90.86%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 24.2 (89.63%) in Physical Facilities, 14.5 (80.56%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2.5 (83.33%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
