1. courses like ANA 203 (Systemic Embryology), Pio 201- (Introduction to Physiology), BIO 208 (Biostatistics) etc were omitted from the CCMAS.

2. No innovative courses were included in the curriculum

3. the grading system was not, clear as they were rather ambiguous

4. Tests and Examinations are of good standard however, they do not cover the curriculum

5. block markings were sighted in the grading system

6. The Non-teaching staff did not benefit from staff development programme

7.The programme did not have some important equipment like, Analytical Balance, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, fume cupboard, muffle furnace etc. in the laboratory

8. Staff offices were sparsely furnished .

9. The journals were current but few in number.

10. the Library has active subscription to Elsevier Science Direct and Research for life However, the internet service is weak

 

1. the University should include core courses highlighted in the CCMAS
2. innovative courses that are unique to the university should be added
3. the grading system should be clear
4. the University should ensure that the tests and examinations are spread through the Curriculum
5. the university should ensure that marks are carefully broken down in the programme.
6. the non-teaching staff should ideally benefit from staff development training
7. The university should procure the aforementioned equipment in the laboratory
8. the staff offices should be furnished in accordance with the dictates of the BMAS
9. the University should procure more journals for the programme.

10. the University needs to strengthen the Internet signal

 

The total score for the programme is 78.95%. It scored 28 (64.28%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (94%) in Staffing, 27 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (77.77%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.66%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
