1. The curriculum contains less than four innovative courses.

2. The test and examination are of good standard but do not cover the curriculum.

3. Marking schemes exist, but are not well developed.

4. The staff mix by rank of 20:50:30 does not meet the NUC approved guidelines for the discipline in two categories.

5. 60% of academic staff and 50% of non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme.

6. The library subscription to e-books and e-journals is active to at least one (1) relevant data base in addition to open source for the programme.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

8. Tracer System is not available

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure that test and examination adequately cover the curriculum.

3. The University should ensure that marking schemes are well-developed.

4. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC approved guidelines.

5. The University should ensure that all academic staff and non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development programme.

6. The University should subscribe to at least two (2) relevant database e-resources for the programme.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

8. The University should ensure that the trace system is in place

 

The total score for the programme is 83.20%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77.14%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
