REMEDIES

1.There are no innovative courses in the curriculum.

2. Marking scheme is not well developed as marks were not allotted to all the question set.

3.Only 14% of non-teaching staff has benefited from staff development.
4. Furnitures in the classrooms and lecture theatres are dilapidated.
5. The faculty environment and classrooms are dirty and unkept.
6. Currency of physical library is not adequate as only 2 current books were available.

 

1. The university should ensure the curriculum is enriched with addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.
2.The university should encourage lecturers to develop their marking scheme properly with the inclusion of marks to be awarded and answers to set questions.
3. The university should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme.
4.Furniture items in the classrooms and lecture theatre should be well maintained.
5. The classrooms and university environment should be clean and well maintained.
6. More current books should be procured for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.80%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (73.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
