REMEDIES

1.Internal Quality Assurance system exist but not effective, as minutes of meetings were not sighted.
2.The curriculum does not contain any innovative courses.

3. Practical works do not adequately cover the curriculum in some
aspects.

4. 91.6% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from the staff
development programme.
5. Laboratory equipment such as weather Station, Soil auger and
Geographic Information System(GIS) 10.x software are not available.
6. Professors offices are not adequately equipped with file cabinets,
Television sets, air conditioners and en suit toilets.
7. No multidisciplinary approach to research or inter university
collaboration.

 

1. Internal Quality Assurance System should be effective.

2. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by
addition of at least four(4) additional innovative courses without
exceeding the maximum credit load.
3. Practical works should be more intensive to cover areas such as
Water and Soil Analysis.
4. The University is encouraged to ensure that all non-academic staff
benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

5. The University should procure all essential laboratory equipment for
the programme.
6. Professorial offices should be well equipped.
7. Multidisciplinary research and collaboration should be established

 

The total score for the programme is 82.40%. It scored 30 (81.08%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
