REMEDIES

1. There are less than two innovative courses in the curriculum.

2. The standard of test and examinations does not cover the entire curriculum.

3. Only 50% of the non-academic staff and 66% of the academic staff have benefited from Staff Development Programme.

4. Laboratory space is inadequate for the programme.

5. The programme does not have a laboratory with the following units/equipment.

i. Big Mamalian Skeleton
ii. Aquarium
iii. A good number of functional Microscopes

6. Office accommodations are inadequate in space.

7. Physical library journals are inadequate in currency.

8. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that curriculum is enriched by addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The standard of test and examination should cover the curriculum of the programme in line with the BMAS.

3. The University should ensure that all non-academic and academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

4. The University should ensure that Laboratory space is adequate and in line with the BMAS.

5. All essential laboratory, facilities, and equipment should be provided for the programme in line with the BMAS.

6. Standard office accommodations should be provided for the programme.

7. More current journals should be procured for the programme.

8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 87.60%. It scored 32.5 (87.84%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.14%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
