REMEDIES

1. The staff mix for the program (25:50:25) is heavy at the senior lecturer level.
2. The resource rooms are not spacious to accommodate students at once instead of in batches.
3. Equipment such as perkins brailler machine for the programme is faulty and non functional
4. The number of holdings (texts / journals) are fairly adequate in the area of special education.

 

1. More lecturer at lecturer one and below should be employed
2. Efforts should be made to create wilder spaces to accommodate students at once.
3. Effort should be made to fix /repair the perkins brailler machine for effective and efficient use.
4. The university should ensure that more texts / journal in the area of special education are acquired

 

The total score for the programme is 94%. It scored 32.5 (98.48%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
