REMEDIES

1. The proportion of staff core to the subject area is below optimal
(only 50% of staff is core to the subject area).

2. Non-teaching staff for the programme is inadequate.

3. Non-teaching staff of the programme have not benefitted from staff
development.

4. Staff offices are poorly equipped and lack air conditioners, fans,
refrigerators, computer systems, and internet connectivity.

5. The library journals for the programme are not current editions.

6. There is no library portal for students to access to E-resources.

 

1. The University should ensure that the programme has adequate
academic staff core to the subject area.

2. The University should ensure that the programme has adequate
non-teaching staff.

3. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit
from staff development.

4. The University should ensure that staff offices are adequately
equipped with air conditioners, computer systems, and internet
connectivity.

5. The University should ensure that library journals for the
programme are current editions.

6. The University should provide library portal for students to access
E-resources.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.14%. It scored 28 (93.33%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (100.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
