REMEDIES

1. The curriculum contains less than four innovative courses.

2. The ratio provided for less 80% but 75% of the actual staff/student ratio exceeded NUC standard of 1:30 for education.

3. 50% of academic staff have not benefited from staff development programme.

4. The space in the existing laboratory is inadequate in size or meets 60% but less than 70% of the prescribed NUC Standards.

5. Laboratory equipment such as bench press, work gym station, bicycle ergometer, body massage machine are inadequate in number and ECG machine is not available.

6. Academic Staff offices are slightly inadequate in space.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure that the actual staff/student ration complies with the NUC approved guidelines.

3. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the staff development programme.

4. The University should ensure that laboratory space meets the provisions of the BMAS.

5. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme.

6. The University should provide more office space for teaching staff.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.00%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
