DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. The curriculum exceeded the maximum credit load across all the
levels as it used an unapproved 2018 BMAS. However, the curriculum
is adequate for the degree programme as it contains all the
prescribed core courses.

2 The innovation courses did not meet the BMAS requirements (at 300
and 400 levels). However, the programme is currently at 200 level.

3. There is no system of External Examiners in existence.

4 The staff mix by rank is not consistent with the NUC guidelines of
20:35:45. However, it was consistent in only one category – the
Senior Lecturer cadre.

5. There were no facilities that cater for physically challenged persons
such as Ramps.

should be made available.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.99%. It scored 29 (82.86%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
