1. The curriculum is not adequate for the programme and not in line with the NUC guidelines
2. The texts and examinations do not cover some aspects of the curriculum
3. Less than 50% of the permanent academic staff are core to the programme
4. There is no dedicated computer/ word processing laboratory for the programme
5. The library books were inadequate in number and coverage
6. There was no evidence of multi disciplinary research collaboration
7. Students highlighted lack of teaching resources in the department
8. About 30% of the academic does not benefit from the staff development programme

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is inline with the NUC guidelines
2. The University should ensure that the tests and examinations cover all aspects of the curriculum
3. The University should ensure that core academic staff to the programme are core
4. The University should ensure that standard laboratories are provided for the programme
5. The University should ensure that books neccassary for the programme are provided
6. The University should ensure that the staff of the programme collaborate in the aspects of multi discipline
7. The University should ensure that teaching resources such as projector, computers and internet facilities are provided
8. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the staff development programme

 

The total score for the programme is 65.55%. It scored 22 (66.67%)  in Academic Matters, 20 (57%) in Staffing, 17 (62.96%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the total score of less than 60%, the Panel recommended  DENIED accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  DENIED accreditation status for the Programme
