REMEDIES

1. Less than four (4) innovative courses were included in the curriculum in addition to the BMAS.
2. Internal Quality Assurance System exists but is not effective.
3. 90.9% of the academic staff have not benefited from the Staff Development Programme.
4. Classroom sizes are inadequate for the number of students in the programme.
5. Environmental sanitation in the university is poor.
6. Physical library books are inadequate in currency.

 

1. The curriculum should be enriched by the addition of at least four (4) innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.
2. The University should ensure the functionality of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
3. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.
4. Larger classrooms should be provided for the programme.
5. Environmental sanitation should be improved upon.
6. More current books should be procured for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.94%. It scored 27.5 (85.94%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 12.5 (78.13%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
