1. 62.1% of the academic staff and 80% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme in the past three years.

2. There are no public address systems and projectors in the large lecture halls.

3. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.

4. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

5. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

6. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research.

 

1. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

2. The University should ensure that public address systems and projectors are provided in the large lecture halls.

3. Standard (spacious) offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme.

4. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

5. The programme should be adequately funded.

6. The University should ensure that there is a multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.00%. It scored 32.75 (88.51%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 1.5 (50.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1.5 (75.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
