REMEDIES

1. The curriculum is substantially covered.
2. Marking schemes were not readily available, due to lack exam officer in the department.
3. The Head of Department is yet to appoint other officers to assist him like, examination, and level advisers.
4. 33. % of the Academic Staff did not benefit from staff development.
5. 75% of the non-academic Staff have not benefitted from staff development programme.
6. Specialty equipment for the programme are not available such as Aviomic lab, flight simulator, Non-Destructive Test (NDT), Eddy flow current detector, ultra sonic probes, Thermographic Cameras.
7. Funding for the Programme is inadequate.
8. Research and Collaborations were available, but letter of intent was seen

 

1. The Curriculum should be adequately covered.
2. Marking schemes should be well developed and examination officer should be appointed in the department.
3. Officers such as level coordinators and examination officers should be appointed.
4. The University should ensure all staff benefit from staff development programme.
5. All non-academic staff should be encouraged to benefit from staff development programme.
6. Specialty equipment should be provided for the programme.
7. The Programme should be adequately Funded.
8. The University should be engaged in multidisciplinary Research and Collaborations.

 

The total score for the programme is 70.17%. It scored 20.5 (62.12%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 18 (66.67%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and (%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
