I. Foundational courses like CM 301: Foundation of broadcasting, CM
303: Introduction to Radio Production, BCJ 306: Introduction to
Telcoms, FLP 301: Introduction to Film Production are being taught at
300 Level.

2. The proportion of teaching staff core to the programme provides for
only 55.5% of the staff need.

3. 72.2% of the academic staff benefited from the Staff Development
Programme.

4. The media Studio is inadequate in space and not well equipped.

5. Physical books in the library are inadequate

6. Funding for the Programme is inadequate

 

1. Foundational Courses like CM 301: Foundation of broadcasting, CM
303: Introduction to Radio Production, BCJ 306: Introduction to
Telcoms, FLP 301: Introduction to Film Production should be moved
from 300 level to 100 Level.

2. The University should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff need.

3. All academic staff should benefit from the Staff Development
Programme.

4. Standard and spacious media studio furnished with modern
equipment should be provided for the programme.

5. More books and Journals should be procured for the programme

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 82.3%. It scored 33 (96.9%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (83%) in Staffing, 27 (62.9%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (83.3%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.7%) in Funding, 3 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
