1) Only Three additional innovative courses are included in the curriculum for the programme
2) Interraction with students reveals limited of knowledge of GIS Softwares
3)The Internal Quality Assurance mechanism is not effective as meetings are not held regularly
4) Staff mix by rank is consistent with NUC Guidelines only at the Professorial level
5) 40% of both academic and non academic staff have not benefitted from any capacity building programme
6) The Thermograph in the weather station enclosure is not functional
7) Funding for the programme is just adequate
8) No Multidisciplinary approach to research

 

1) More innovative should be introduced into the programme curriculum
2)The University should acquire more GIS Software for better skills acquisition
3) The Departmental Internal Quality Assurance should be made more functional
4) The University should make concerted effort to comply with NUC guidelines
5) The Institution should ensure all staff benefit from relevant development programmes
6) The University should get the Thermograph repaired
7) The programme should be adequately funded
8) The University should ensure thereis multidisciplinary approach to research

 

The total score for the programme is 89.08%. It scored 30 (90.91%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (86%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
