REMEDIES

1. FLP 301: Introduction to Film Production, FLP303:Fundamentals of
Film & Cinematography, FLP 305; Introduction to Photography &
Video 1, FLP Principle and Practice of Screen Writing Directing and
Production Design are foundation courses but are taught in 300
Level.

2. The proportion of teaching staff core to the programme provides
for only 52.6%.

3. 16.7% of the academic staff do not have PhD degree

4. 58.3% of the academic staff benefitted from the Staff Development
Programme

5. Non-existence of Media Studio, Editing facilities and essential
equipment like Cine Camera, DJI Quadcopter drones and Camera
Lenses for the proramme.

6. Classrooms are not adequately furnished with essential equipment
like white boards and projectors for the programme.

7. Physical library books are inadequate in number.

8. Funding is inadequate for the Programme.

 

1. FLP 301: Introduction to Film Production, FLP 303 Fundamentals of
Film & Cinematography FLP 305; Introduction to Photography &
Video 1, FLP 307: Principle of Practice of Screen Writing, Directing
and Production Design should be moved from 300 Level to 100
Level.

2. The University should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff
core to subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff
need.

3. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain PhD degree.

4. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefits from
the Staff Development Programme.

5. Modern Film Production equipment and film editing facilities should
be procured for the programme.

6. Standard and well equipped classroom should be provided for the
programme.

7. More current books should be procured for the programme.

8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 78.2%. It scored 33 (81.8%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (74%) in Staffing, 27 (66.7%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (94.9%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.7%) in Funding, 3 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
