There are no additional or innovative courses in the Programme curriculum
The curriculum is not adequately covered, this also includes practical work.
One of the students did not meet the admission requirement
Course deliver is fairly adequately
Internal quality Assurance system exit but is not effective
The proportion of staff core to the subject area is 63.4%
Staff mix is consistent with NUC guidelines in only the professorial cadre
Not all the core staff have Ph.Ds
Staff development for academic staff exist, but only 57% have benefited
Staff development for non-academic staff does not exist
The laboratory should be adequately equipped
Office accommodation is adequate but the professorial offices are not well equipped

The curriculum should be adequately covered, this also includes practical work
All students enrolled should meet the admission requirements
There is need to ensure that lecturers adequately deliver their tasks
T o ensure that minutes and reports of the committee are properly document
staff core to the subject area should be improved
Staff mix should be consistent with the guidelines in all the categories
All academic staff core to the subject area should have a Ph.D
All academic staff exist should benefit from staff development.
Non-academic staff should also benefit from staff development.
A cryostat should be provided for the laboratory
Professorial offices should have ensuite toilet facilities

 

The total score for the programme is 68.49%. It scored 22.5 (68%)  in Academic Matters, 19 (54%) in Staffing, 20.5 (75.93%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2.5 (83%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
