1. only one innovative course was included in the curriculum

2. Academic and non academic staff were not adequate in number and spread.

3. 55.6 academic staff possess the Ph.D

4. only 2 out of 6 Departments have HODs with letters of Appointments.

5. 33.4% of academic staff and 87.5% of non-academic staff have not benefited from the Staff Development Programme.

 

1. four or more innovative courses should be included in the curriculum.

2. The university should employ more full time academic staff and non academic staff (technologists, confidential secretary) for the programme.

3. The university should ensure that all academic staff have Ph.D.

4. HODs should be appointed for all the Departments.

5. The University should ensure that all category of staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.28%. It scored 26.75 (76.43%)  in Academic Matters, 24 (68.57%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
