REMEDIES

1. Staff mix by rank of 100:00:00 does not meet the NUC guidelines in all categories.

2. Technical Officers/ Technologists are not adequate for the programme.

3. 82% of Academic Staff and 43% of Non-Academic Staff have not benefitted from Staff the Development programme.

4. The following modern laboratory equipment are not available; Tilting Flume, Recording Rain Gauge. PH Metre Dissolved Oxygen Metre and Turbidity Meter.

5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure the staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 is in line with NUC guidelines.

2. The University should ensure that more Technical/Technologists are employed for the programme.

3. The university should ensure that all staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

4. The University should ensure that all essential laboratory equipment are provided. Also, all non-functional equipment should be repaired or replaced and uninstalled equipment, installed.

5. The programme should be adequately funded

 

The total score for the programme is 86.80%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 16.5 (91.67%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
