DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Media studios spaces are inadequate.

2. Equipment in the lecture theatres/ classrooms are dilapidated and
obsolete.

3. Staff offices are not adequately furnished with refrigerators and
media facilities for tracking students’ work

4. Physical library journals are inadequate in number and currency.

5. Access to the library e- resources is localized to the Library complex
only

6. 20% of the academic staff do not have PhD.

7. 27.8% of the academic staff have not benefitted from the Staff
Development Programme.

8. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should provide a standard and spacious Medio Studio.

2. The University should ensure that all obsolete and dilapidated
equipment are replaced and well maintained.

3. The University should ensure that staff offices are furnished with
standard equipment.

4. The University should ensure that more current journals are
provided for the programme.

5. Internet hotspots should be extended to other parts of the campus
for ease of access to e – resources in the Library.

6. All Academic staff should be encouraged to obtain a PhD.

7. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefitted
from the staff development programme.

8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.6%. It scored 37 (97.3%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (97%) in Staffing, 27 (81.5%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (72.2%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.7%) in Funding, 3 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
