1. Academic Regulations on examination misconduct and sanctions not stated in the student handbook.

2. The programme does not have the following Laboratory equipment.
i. Electric Microscope
ii. Fluorescent Microscope

3. 49% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D degree.

4. The non-teaching staff are inadequate in number

5. Only 63% non-academic staff have benefited from Staff
Development Programme

6. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. Academic Regulations on examination misconduct and sanctions should be clearly spelled out in the student handbook.

2. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme in line with the CCMAS and BMAS.

3. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D degree.

4. Qualified laboratory staff should be employed for the programme.

5. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.00%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 21 (78%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
