Only one innovative course (Business Creation & Growth) was added to the curriculum.
Tests and Examinations do not adequately cover the curriculum.
Practical work were not properly reported and did not cover the curriculum.
Internal Quality Assurance exist but it is not effective
Staff/Student ratio is 1:17.4
The proportion of staff core to the subject area is 52.6%
Teaching staff with PhDs are 60%
Staff development for non-teaching staff is inadequate
The size and equipment of the laboratories are not adequate

 

Inclusion of 4 or more innovative courses
Tests and Examinations should adequately cover the curriculum.
Practical work should be reported by the students and graded by the instructors, accordingly.
Minutes/reports of committee meetings should be properly documented.
Staff/Student ratio should meet the CCMAS requirement of 1:15
There is need to employ more academic staff core to the programme
All Teaching staff should all have PhDs
All staff should benefit from staff development
There should be provision for a spacious laboratory and more equipment like microscopes, multimedia for gross lab, and more cadavers etc.

 

The total score for the programme is 77.00%. It scored 29.25 (79.05%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
