DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. The University introduced only two innovative courses in the curriculum, compared to the four in the BMAS/CCMAS.

2. Some students enrolled in the program did not meet the admission requirements.

3. Few marking schemes have deficiencies. URP 316 and URP 101 have no mark allocation.

4. Students lack practical exposure to action plans; subject plans; and master plans.

5. Students demonstrate an average level of hard and soft skills relevant to the program

6. 37.5% of non-academic staff have not benefited from the staff development program in the past three years.

7. The Laboratory equipment inspected met the BMAS specifications covering the broad areas of the program up to 70% but less than 80%

8. Funding for the program is inadequate.

 

1. It is recommended that four or more innovative courses be introduced to meet compulsory courses stipulated in the BMAS

2. The University should ensure that all students enrolled in the program, meet the admission requirements.

3. The university should ensure that marking schemes are well-developed for all courses.

4. Students need more exposure and improvement to urban design, City; and master plan

5. Students require improvement in soft skills acquisition in areas of GIS, AUTOCAD, ARCGIS, SPPS, and Computer-aided designs.

6. All Non-teaching staff of the department should participate and benefit from staff development.

7. The university should provide more equipment such as a plotter machine, projector, Model -making tools, Digital boards and Aigitizer

8. The University should provide more funding for the program

 

The total score for the programme is 80.99%. It scored 24 (72.7%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
