1. Staff offices are inadequate in space and furnishing such as file cabinets, white boards and ensuite toilet facilities for professors

2. Classrooms are not adequately furnished with teaching aids such as projectors, smart boards and cooling systems such as fans or airconditioners

3. There are no Biological Garden, Herbarium, Museum and Hydrobiology equipment and facilities for the programme.

4. The physical library holdings did not cover all relevant areas of biology such as hydrobiology, animal biology and invertebrates.

 

1. University should ensure staff offices meet the NUC standards in space and furnishing.

2. The University should ensure that classrooms are adequately furnished with teaching aids such as projectors, smart boards, fans or airconditioners.

3. The University should provide Biological Garden, Herbarium, Museum facilities and Hydrobiology equipment for the programme.

4. The University should provide relevant books in the field of Hydrobiology, Animal Biology and Invertebrates.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.66%. It scored 31.5 (95.45%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 18.5 (68.52%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
