DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. CCMAS is yet to be implemented.
2. The Staff/Student ratio of 1:19.2 is not in conformity with NUC guideline of 1:15 for Agriculture discipline.
3. The Staff Mix by Rank of 33.3:38.9:27.8 did not comply with the NUC guideline for Staff Mix by Rank of 20:35:45.
4. Only 61.1% of the academic staff and 40% of the non-academic have benefited from the Staff Development Programme.
5. The Safety Equipment (sand buckets and fire extinguishers) are inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the CCMAS is implemented immediately.
2. The University should ensure that it conforms to the Staff/Student ratio of 1:15.
3. The University should ensure that it adheres to the Staff Mix by Rank of 20:35:45.
4. The University should encourage both its academic and non-academic staff to benefit from the Staff Development Programme.
5. The University should provide adequate safety equipment and it should be placed at strategic points.

 

The total score for the programme is 92.80%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
