REMEDIES

1. The curriculum includes only three additional innovative courses.

2. Only 37% of the academic staff and 6% of non academic staff have benefited from staff development programme of the university.

3. Some of the laboratories equipment is not functional. Additionally, there is no running water, and the power supply in the laboratories is erratic.

4. Some of the equipment in the classrooms is not properly maintained.

5. There is inadequate space for staff office accommodations.

6. The laboratories, classrooms, and staff offices are inadequately equipped with essential safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and sand buckets

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should introduce at least four innovative courses into the curriculum.
2. The University should encourage all staff of the programme to benefit from staff development programme.

3. The university should identify and repair or replace non-functional equipment, ensure laboratories have a reliable water supply, and ensure a steady power supply.

4. The University should ensure that equipment in the classrooms is adequately maintained

5. The University should ensure adequate office space for staff.

6. The university should ensure that fire extinguishers and sand buckets are installed in easily accessible locations throughout the laboratories, classrooms, and staff offices

7. The University should ensure the programme adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.00%. It scored 24 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
