1. Some core courses to include CHM 351 & 352 Process Science I & II and CHM 354 & 358 Management and Chemical Industry I & II are omitted in the curriculum of the programme. 2. There is no inclusion of innovative courses in the curriculum of the programme. 3. Question papers and interactions with the students indicated that the curriculum is not adequately covered for the programme. 4. Evaluation of students’ works via marking schemes, continuous assessment, course work, test, examination script are not consistent with the BMAS/CCMAS. 5. Practical works for the programme are not depth and do not cover the curriculum. 6. Staff/Students ratio of 1:27 for the programme is not consistent with the BMAS/CCMAS requirement for science discipline. 7. The proportion of staff core to the subject area does not meet NUC requirement. 8. Only 64% of Academic Staff benefited from Staff Development programme. 9. Office accommodation for Professorial cadre are not adequate furnished with chairs, table, visitors’ seat and toilet facilities. 10. Physical library books and journal are inadequate in number and currency. 11. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The curriculum should be reviewed to include CHM 351 & 352 Process Science I & II and CHM 354 & 358 Management and Chemical Industry I & II in line with the provision of the BMAS/CCMAS. 2. The University should ensure that at least four innovative courses are included in the programme. 3. There should be adequate coverage of the curriculum in line with the BMAS/CCMAS. 4. The University should ensure that marking schemes, continuous assessment, course work, test, examination script are not consistent with the BMAS/CCMAS. 5. The University should ensure in-depth practical works and coverage for the programme. 6. Staff/Students ratio should be consistent with the provision of the BMAS/CCMAS. 7. The University should ensure that staff proportion to subject area meets NUC stipulation. 8. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from Staff Development programme. 9. Office accommodation for Professorial cadre should be adequately furnished with chairs, tables, visitors’ seat and toilet facilities. 10. The University should provide adequate number of current books and journals in the library. 11. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 71.20%. It scored 21 (56.76%) in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
