REMEDIES

1. Equipment such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR), Infrared Spectrometer (IR) and Osmometer Membrane are not included in the curriculum.

2. Practical works for the programme are not depth and do not cover the curriculum.

3. Less than 54% of Academic and Non-Academic staff benefited from staff Development programmes.

4. There is only one subscription to database in the e-library for the programme.

5. Question papers and interactions with the students indicated that the curriculum is not adequately covered for the programme.

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that equipment such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR), Infrared Spectrometer (IR) and Osmometer Membrane are included in the curriculum.

2. The University should ensure in-depth practical works are carried out with full coverage on the programme.

3. The University should ensure that all Academic and Non-Academic staff benefit from staff Development programmes.

4. The University should ensure that either two or more databases are subscribed to the e-library.

5. There should be adequate coverage of the curriculum in line with the BMAS.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.20%. It scored 31 (83.78%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (86%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
