1.The Curriculum is not fully adequate for the programme as core courses in Literature is omitted.
2. The marking schemes are not well developed and there is no clear information on the grading system of projects.
3. The staff mix ratio of 25:25:50 is only consistent with NUC guidelines in one category ie Prof/Reader category.
4. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. Research in Oral Literature should be included in the Curriculum.
2. The marking schemes should be well developed with clear information on the grading system of the projects.
3. The University should ensure that the staff mix ratio is consistent with NUC guidelines in all categories.
4. More funds should be provided for the effective running of the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.80%. It scored 27 (72.97%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (85.7%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
