1.The staff core to the subject area are less than 50% of the teaching staff need
2. VTE laboratories space is fairly adequate and meets 60% but less than 70% of the NUC standard
3. VTE laboratory equipment are inadequate in some equipment and numbers
4. text and journals are inadequate in number and coverage

 

1. The staff core to the subject area should be improved upon to meet 75% or more of the teaching staff
2. VTE laboratories space should be improved on to meet the NUC standard of 70% ore more
3. Equipment such as concrete mixer, work benches, vibrating machines, thickening machine and mitering machine should be adequate in the laboratory
4. Text and journals should be adequate in number and coverage

 

The total score for the programme is 88.00%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
