1. Three core courses were omitted in the curriculum, namely; Introduction to Computer Science (200 Level), Introduction to Law (300 Level) and Project Management (400 Level).

2. External examiner has spent three years.

3. 37.5% of the academic staff and 42.86% of non-academic staff have not benefitted from staff development.

4. Academic Staff offices are not well furnished.

5. Computer Laboratory for teaching computer application and programme is not available for the programme.

6. Some safety equipment such as first aid kits, safety chart and fire extinguisher are not available in some Laboratories.

7. Library books and journals are not very current.

8. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that all the omitted core courses are included in the curriculum

2. External examiners should be engaged yearly renewable for another one year.

3. The university should ensure that all staff benefit from the staff development programme.

4. Standard and adequately furnished academic staff offices should be provided for the programme.

5. The university should provide computer laboratory for the programme.

6. All essential safety equipments should be provided for the laboratories.

7. More current books and journals should be provided for the programme.

8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.80%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
