DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

i. Academic staff with Ph.D is not in line with NUC guidelines.
ii. Technical and administrative Staff have not benefitted from Staff training in the last three years.
iii. Inadequate Fire extinguishers and sand buckets in some classrooms.
iv. Staff mix of 40.57: 20.28: 39.01 do not meet NUC’s guidelines in any category.
v. Funding is inadequate.

 

i. The university should encourage academic staff to obtain their Ph.D.
ii. Technical and Administrative Staff should be trained and retrained for continuous staff development.
iii. More Fire Extinguishers and Sand Buckets should be provided in the classrooms.
iv. The University should recruit more Senior Lecturers and Lecturer 1 and below.
v. More funding should be made available for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.08%. It scored 32.80 (99.39%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2.2 (73.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
