1. Three innovative courses were citied : IGB/FRN101,CHE513(Energy conversion Engineering,CHE515(Coal process technology)
2. Certain analytical equipment’s like XrayDiffracture,Refractometer, Fourier Transform Infrared, Spectroscopy
3. Average level of hard and soft skills have been demonstrated by the students due to limited exposure to specialized chemical software. Like
Aspenhysis, chemical needed for process optimising and design.
4. .Only 27 out of the 43 academic have benefitted from staff development programme.

5. Only 9 out of the 20 non-teaching staff have benefitted from staff development.

6. Some analytical equipment such as FTIR, X-RAY all not sighted

7. Only 2 classrooms were found to be dedicated for the levels 300,400,500 classes yielding approximately 67%

 

1. The University should ensure there is at least four innovative courses for the programme.

2. The University should ensure that all the equipment listed are available for the programme.

3. The University should ensure that all chemicals needed for process optimisation and design are available for the programme.

4. The University should ensure all academic staff benefit from staff development

5. The University should ensure all non-teaching staff benefit from staff development

6. The University should ensure FTIR,
X-rays are available for the programme

7 .The University should provide more that there is more classes dedicated for the department

 

The total score for the programme is 87.20%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
