1. Practical work conducted did not adequately cover the curriculum.

2. staff mix by rank meet NUC’s guidelines in only one category
3. Only 50% of non-teaching staff benefitted from staff development programme of the College.
4. The number of laboratory equipment are inadequate
5. Staff accommodation is ill-equipped.

6. Inadequate number of fire extinguishers and sand buckets.

7. No Subscription to data bases in the e-library, only open source materials.
8. Only intranet is available in the library.

 

1. More practical work on herbarium should be conducted to adequately cover the curriculum.
2. he College should strive to meet NUC’s staff mix guideline of 20:35:45.
3. All Non-teaching staff of the College should be encouraged to benefit from staff development programme.
4. More modern laboratory equipment should be provided.
5. The College should equip staff offices with more facilities like bookshelves, file cabinets and more chairs.
6. More fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be provided in strategic areas.
7. The College should subscribe to at least 2 databases in addition to open source materials.
8. The College should ensure there is internet, library website, campus hotspots and intranet.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.19%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (85.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2.25 (75.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
