REMEDIES

1. Only about 50% of academic staff benefited from the staff development programme.

2. The language laboratory exists but the equipment available were not functional.
3. Non academic staff did not benefit from the staff development programmes.
4. There was poor internet connectivity at the Library.
5. The staff mix by rank of 33:36:36 did not meet up
with the NUC specifications of 20:35:45

 

1. The University should ensure that more academic staff benefit form the staff development programme.

2. The University should ensure that equipment at the language laboratory are functional and in good condition.
3. The University should make provision for Non academic staff to engage in staff development training programmes.
4. The University should ensure that good internet connectivity is available.
5. The University should ensure that the staff mix by rank is
in line with NUC requirements

 

The total score for the programme is 79.83%. It scored 32 (96.97%)  in Academic Matters, 23 (65.71%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
