DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. The deficiencies identified were on physical facilities such as Smart boards and many non functional fans.
2. Not up to 70% of equipment were functional in the departmental computer lab.
3. The equipment in some of the classrooms were adequate in number but not well maintained as there were non functional fans, broken chairs and tables.
4. Out of 18 Staff offices inspected, 4 were inadequate in space but well maintained.

 

1. The department should provide smart boards and repair the non functional fans in the classrooms.
2. The computers in the lab should be replaced and maintained
3. The broken chairs and tables should be repaired while the non functional fans should be repaired or replaced
4. The spaces in the four identified staff offices should be expanded

 

The total score for the programme is 90.40%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
