1. Interaction between the panel members and students of the programme reveals the students have acquired an average relevant hard and soft skills expected of but need to work harder for further advancement of these skills. 2. The staff mix by rank of 23:38.4:38.4 does not meet the NUC approved guidelines for the discipline in two categories. 3. 33.3% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme. 4. The space in the existing laboratory is inadequate in size or meets 60% but less than 70% of the prescribed NUC Standards. 5. Laboratory equipment such as recording and playback devices and technological device for learning recitation of Holy Quran is not available. 6. Classrooms are slightly inadequate in space. 7. Academic staff offices are inadequate in number. 8. Books and Journals in the physical library are inadequate in number, quality and coverage. 9. Recommended texts and journals in the physical library need to be improved. 10. The library subscription to e-books and e-journals is active to at least one (1) relevant data base in addition to open source for the programme. 12. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The University should ensure that the hard and soft skills acquisition relevant to the programme are impacted to students. 2. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC approved guidelines. 3. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development programme. 4. The University should ensure that laboratory space meets the provisions of the BMAS. 5. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme. 6. The University should provide more classrooms space for the programme. 7. The University should provide more office accommodation for teaching staff. 9. More current recommended texts and journals should be procure for the programme. 10. The University should subscribe to at least two (2) relevant database e-resources for the programme. 11. The University should provide more access to available e-books and e-journals to internet and library website. 12. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 74.14%. It scored 26 (86.67%) in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 17 (62.96%) in Physical Facilities, 9 (50.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
