1. Interaction between the panel members and students of the programme reveals the students have acquired an average relevant hard and soft skills expected of but need to work harder for further advancement of these skills. 2. External examiner does not exist. 3. The staff mix by rank of 33.3:33.3:33.3 does not meet the NUC approved guidelines for the discipline in two categories. 4. 33.3% of academic staff do not have PhD. degree programme. 5. 31% of academic staff have not benefited from staff development programme. 6. Laboratory equipment such as technological for learning pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, interaction live-video with native speakers, backup power for uninterrupted learning, recording and playback devices are not available. 7. Classrooms space is inadequate. 8. Office equipment for academic staff such as bookshelves, file cabinets and air conditioners are not available. 9. Books and Journals in the physical library are inadequate in number, quality and coverage. 10. Recommended texts and journals in the physical library need to be improved. 11. The library subscription to e-books and e-journals is active to at least one (1) relevant data base in addition to open source for the programme. 12. Access to available e-books and e-journals for staff and student is available only to campus hotspots and intranet. 13. Funding for the programme is inadequate. 14. Research and Collaborations does not for the programme

1. The University should ensure that the hard and soft skills acquisition relevant to the programme are impacted to students. 2. The University should ensure that external examiner system exist with a qualified assessor engaged to asses final year courses and project for the programme. 3. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC approved guidelines. 4. The University should ensure that all academic staff have PhD degree programme. 6. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme. 7. The University should provide more classrooms space. 8. The University should provide more office equipment for teaching staff. 9. The University should ensure that more books and journals are procure for the programme. 10. More current recommended texts and journals should be procure for the programme. 11. The University should subscribe to at least two (2) relevant database e-resources for the programme. 12. The University should provide more access to available e-books and e-journals to internet and library website. 13. The programme should be adequately funded. 14. The University should encourage academic staff and students of the programme to collaborate and developed project/research that would serve the host community

The total score for the programme is 68.97%. It scored 25 (83.33%) in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 9 (50.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
B. APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION
Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
