REMEDIES

1. ECO 102 and ECO 203 are missing from the listed courses in the
curriculum.
2. Tests and examination questions do not adequately cover the
curriculum.
3. There is no evidence of an effective quality assurance structure for the
programme.
4. 63% of the Academic staff benefitted from staff development
programme in the last three years
5. 67% of the non-academic staff have benefitted from staff
development programme in the last three years.
6, Senior lecturers were observed to have shared offices.
7. There are no textbooks on Econometrics.
8. There is no campus hotspot for access to e-resources.

 

1. ECO 102( introduction to basic concepts of macroeconomics) and ECO
203( basic concepts of monetary and fiscal polices) should be included
in the curriculum.
2. Tests and examination questions should adequately cover the
curriculum.
3. An effective quality assurance structure should be established for the
programme.
4. The University should ensure all academic staff benefit from staff
development programme regularly.
5. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from
staff development regularly.
6. Senior lecturers should be provided with single offices in line with the
NUC BMAS.
7. Textbooks on Econometrics should be procured for the programme.
8. The University should provide campus hotspot for easy accessibility to
e-resources.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.89%. It scored 18 (81.82%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
