REMEDIES

1. The practicals conducted did not cover the curriculum.

2. The staff mix by rank is consistent with the NUC guidelines only in one category.

3. Equipment like the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machine was not provided on inspection.
4. There are no in built toilets in professors offices.
5. There is non implementation of the CCMAS.

 

1. There is need for comprehensive and adequate coverage of the curriculum to ensure that all learning objectives are thoroughly addressed.
2. The university should ensure that staff structure for academic staff meets the required standards in the three categories.

3. The university should make available the CNC machine for the programme.
4. The University should make provision for in built toilets in the professors offices.
5. The University should ensure the implementation of the CCMAS.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.80%. It scored 33.5 (90.54%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (92%) in Staffing, 24 (88.88%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
