1. The philosophy and objectives of the program is not in line with the BMAS guidelines. 2. The following core courses are omitted in the curriculum: Chemical Reaction Engineering, Process Modeling and Simulation and Economics for Engineers. 3. All students in 500, 400 and 300 level did not meet the admission requirements (JAMB Combination) in line with BMAS. 4. Test and examinations for 400 and 500 level are not of good standard (CHE 411 Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics III and CHE 415 Transport Phenomena III) focus on lover cognitive domain: What, Why, List, State and Name) 5. Internal quality assurance system exists but it is not effective 6. The staff mix by rank of 16.7:33.3:50 meet the BMAS guidelines in only one category 7. Non-teaching staff (technical staff) are not adequate in number and quality. 8. All non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the staff Development programme. 9. There was no evidence equipment and laboratory for Process Control, transport Phenomena, Reaction Engineering and Computer Laboratory. 10. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and coverage. 11. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The philosophy and objectives of the programme should be clearly sated and should be in line with the BMAS. 2. The curriculum should be reviewed to include of all omitted courses in line with BMAS guidelines. 3. The University should ensure that all students admitted into the programme met the admission requirements in line with BMAS. 4. Test and examination should be of good standard and should adequately cover the curriculum. 5. The University should ensure that the internal quality assurance system should be effective with minutes of meetings properly documented. 6. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 for the programme. 7. The University should employ more non-teaching staff for the programme. 8. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the staff Development programme. 9. The University should provide all essential laboratory and equipment for the programme. 10. Current books and journals covering all areas should be procured for the programme. 11. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 62.19%. It scored 15.25 (46.21%) in Academic Matters, 27 (77.14%) in Staffing, 16 (59.26%) in Physical Facilities, 10 (55.56%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
