REMEDIES

1. The practical work of the programme did not cover the curriculum.
2. Only 64.30% of academic staff have benefitted from staff development programme.
3. The metallurgical microscopes in the laboratory were not enough.
4. Office accommodation were not adequately furnished.

 

1. The University should ensure that practical work cover the curriculum.
2. The University should ensure that over 70% of staff benefit from staff development programmes.
3. The University should ensure that more metallurgical microscopes are purchased,
4. The University should improve the furnishing of academic offices

 

The total score for the programme is 85.60%. It scored 34 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
