REMEDIES

1. The degree projects are innovative and creative but not well supervised.
2. Practicals conducted did not cover the curriculum
3. Only 65% of the Academic Staff and 55 of the Non-academic staff benefited from Staff Development Programme
4. The Laboratory is not adequate in space and not adequately equipped.
5. The equipment in the classrooms are not well-maintained.
6. Funding is not adequate

 

1. The University should ensure that the degree projects are supervised.
2. The Practical works should cover the curriculum
3. All staff should be encouraged to benefit from Staff Development Programme
4. The spacious and adequately equipped laboratories should be equipped for the Programme..
5. The equipment in the classrooms should be well-maintained.
6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.59%. It scored 34.33 (92.78%)  in Academic Matters, 32.16 (91.89%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1.5 (75.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
