REMEDIES

1. There is evidence of block marking in the students’ examination scripts
2. The staff mix by rank of 15.8:10:5:73.7 meets the NUC guidelines only in one category
3. Less than 60%of the academic staff have PhD
4. Only 63% of the academic staff benefitted from the Staff Development Programme
5. Classrooms equipment are not well maintained
6. The sanitary condition of the University environment is poor
7. There is no campus wide hotspot and the internet connectivity in the main library is poor
8. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The University should ensure that there is no block marking of students’ examination scripts

7. Then University should ensure that there is campus wide hotspot and strong internet connectivity in the main library
8. The University should ensure that the programme is well funded

 

The total score for the programme is 76.68%. It scored 26.5 (80.30%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 12.75 (70.83%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
