1. Practical conducted do not adequately cover the depth and scope of the curriculum in the area of studio courses.

2. There are bloc allocation of marks to examination questions in some courses.

3. The staff mix by rank of 20:40:40 does not meet the NUC approved guidelines in two categories.

4. 42.9% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D. degree.

5. There are no projectors and also, the white boards in the classrooms are too small in size.

6. Professor’s office is inadequate in space.

7. Academic staff offices are not well furnished with bookshelves and filling cabinets.

8. Physical library books and journal are inadequate in number and currency.

9. Internet connectivity is slow and impedes access to e-resources.

10. There is no evidence of research and collaboration in the programme.

11. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The university should ensure that adequate practicals are conducted to cover the depth and scope of the curriculum.

2. Bloc allocation of marks to examination questions should be discouraged.

3. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC approved guidelines.

4. The University should encourage all academic staff to obtain Ph.D. degree.

5. Projectors and adequate sized white boards should be installed in the classrooms.

6. Standard office should be provided for the professor on the programme.

7. Well furnished staff offices should be provided for academic staff on the programme.

8. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

9. The University should ensure that internet connectivity is improved on.

10. The university should ensure that there is research and collaboration in the programme.

11. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 77.69%. It scored 27 (82%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
