REMEDIES

1. Yet to fully adopt Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS).

2. Some students did not meet the NUC Minimum Academic Standards requirement for admission.

3. Some courses like Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, The Use of Library, Local Geography and Public Transport Management and Society are missing in the curriculum.

4. Driving simulator and CMAPIT Transport Research Studio software suite was not sighted.

5. Samples of Railway/Train equipment were missing in the laboratory.

6. Water supply is inadequate.

7. Sand buckets and fires-extinguishers are inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) is fully adopted for the programme.

2. The University should ensure that only students who meet the NUC Minimum Academic Standards requirements are admitted.

3. The University should review the curriculum and include the missing courses for the programme.

4. The University should acquire a Driving simulator and CMAPIT Transport Research Studio software suite for the programme.

5. The University should source for Railway/Train equipment for the programme.

6. The University should ensure that additional water supply is made available for smooth-running of the programme.

7. More sand buckets and fire-extinguishers should be provided for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 94.21%. It scored 29 (87.88%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
