1. The curriculum not fully adequate for the programme as some courses are missing.

2. Examination questions do not cover the curriculum

3. The staff mix by rank of 27: 0 and 72 do not conform with the NUC guideline of 20: 35 and 45
4. Only 63.7% of academic staff have benefitted from staff development programmes
5. Only 60% of non-academic staff have benefitted from staff development programmes
6. Books and journals in the library are not adequate in number and currency
7. Subscriptions to e-library are not updated
8. Funding is inadequate for the programme
9. Lack of necessary multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration

 

1. The university should ensure that missing courses such as the Nigeria Legal System, Nigeria Constitutional Development as well as introduction to Psychology are included in the curriculum.

2. The university should ensure that examination questions are structured to reflect the course content and cover the curriculum.
3. The university should ensure compliance with the NUC guideline on staff mix by rank of 20: 35 and 45
4.The university should ensure all academic staff benefits from staff development programmes
5. The university should ensure all non-academic staff benefits from staff development programmes
6. The university should endeavor to procure additional books and journals for the programme
7. The university should ensure e-library subscriptions are updated
8. The university should ensure that adequate funding is provided for the programme
The university should ensure multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration

 

The total score for the programme is 84.16%. It scored 20 (76.92%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 16 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
