REMEDIES

1. The practical work conducted by the students are not adequate.

2. The Staff Mix by Rank is not consistent with the NUC requirement in two categories.

3. All the non-academic Staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

4. Academic staff offices are not furnished with modern furniture and file cabinet.

5. There are not fire extinguishers and sand buckets in the department of Social Studies.

6. Physical Library Books and Journals are inadequate in currency.

7. The programme is not adequately funded.

8. There is no multidisciplinary approach to Research and Innovation on the programme.

 

1. The College should ensure that more practical work are conducted on the programme for students to have more knowledge of the Social Studies programme.

2. The College should ensure a Staff Mix by Rank of 20:35:45.

3. The College should ensure that all member of staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

4. The College should provide well furnished offices for the programme.

5. Fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be provided for the programme.

6. The College should procure more Books and Journals for the programme.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

8. The College should ensure there is multidisciplinary approach to Research and Innovation on the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 87.30%. It scored 30 (90.91%)  in Academic Matters, 36 (90.00%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
