1. the curriculum contains only three (3) innovative courses.

2. though degree project were of good quality but was not well supervised as it lacked innovation and creativity in the area of topics.

3. the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provided was less than 75%.

4. academic staff offices are adequate in number and space but are not equipped with bookshelves, filing cabinets and refrigerators well applicable.

5. library books and journals are inadequate in numbers and not very current to cover the programme.

6. subscription was to only Open-source materials which is inadequate for the programme.

7. funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. the university should ensure that the curriculum is enriched with a minimum of 4 innovative courses or more.
2. degree projects should be supervised thoroughly to encourage students to be innovative and creative.
3. university is advised to ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area are at least 75% or more.
4. university should furnish academic staff offices with adequate equipment.
5. more current and relevant books should be procured for the programme.
6. the university should subscribe to at least 2 database for more current and relevant e-resources.
7. the university should ensure that the programme is adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81%. It scored 26 (81%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 16 (100%) in Physical Facilities, 9 (50%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33%) in Funding, 3 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
